A true people-person with a love of helping others and an extensive knowledge about the mortgage industry, it is unsurprising Jason Fox has achieved great success. He started his professional career working in car sales, quickly becoming one of the best in his office. Genuinely caring and highly ambitious, it didn’t take long for someone to suggest he join the mortgage business. That someone referred Jason to a network of connections, and before he knew it, he was working for a mortgage company. Commuting nearly 2 hours each way to his new job, Jason wasn’t going to let anything get in the way of his success.
He hit the ground running, absorbing as much information as he could in the first few years. Jason has held a variety of positions since then, including owning a mortgage company called City Line Mortgage, as well as being the Corporate Branch Manager of West Town Bank and Trust, working strictly off referrals. Today he is the Sales Manager at People’s Home Equity, Inc. in New Market, MD, their only office in the state. He has a team of two loan officers and two loan processors working under him. Jason is a Certified Residential Mortgage Specialist, making him part of the rare one percent in the entire country to have the certification. Always reading books and learning, Jason is constantly thinking of ways to improve his already successful business.
Aside from his professionalism and expertise, what makes Jason stand out is his honesty. “I’m very honest with people. If I think a certain mort- gage payment is unrealistic for a client’s financial outlook, then I will tell them and thoroughly explain why,” Jason says. Another highlight of Jason’s service is his constant communication and streamlined de- livery of information. “I keep in
touch throughout the process. I use software that allows an email to be sent to everyone as we complete each step, so everyone is up to date,” he says. This means clients will know when they’re pre-approved, when disclosures are sent out/received, when an appraisal is ordered and when the loan is funded, among other steps.
Jason also loves building his client base, introducing himself to listing agents and giving them his contact info. Going by ‘My Mortgage Guy,’ Jason makes it easy for others to remember him.
Clients love Jason’s availability and quick response. One client said, “Jason is knowledgeable, patient and always responded to our questions and concerns within an hour. This was the second mortgage process I went through and the first for my wife. Jason actually made the loan process the easiest part of the trans- action…that is almost unheard of! If you need a mortgage loan, Jason is the ONLY choice!”
While Jason loves serving all types of clients, he finds great meaning in his work with Homes for Heroes. The organization helps make home ownership for public service workers such as teachers, fire fighters, police officers and military personnel, more attainable. In 2014, Jason was named the #1 Homes for Heroes affiliate in Maryland. In Jason’s free-time, you can find him spending time with his family, Carolyn, Joseph and baby Jaxy.
After years in this business, Jason can’t imagine himself in any other career path. It is perfect for him in so many ways, and he finds it incredibly rewarding to help others
reach their dream of owning a home and attaining financial stability. He aims for his clients to save money, build wealth and utilize the correct mortgage to help them achieve financial independence.
“What I love most about it is the phone call to my clients saying their loan was approved. I can just hear the relief in their voice, and I know the next thing they will do is call their spouse and tell their family. I go the extra mile so my clients reach that happy moment.”
